The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing patient medical records post-visit and translating this information into standardized codes used by insurers for processing claims. You will be part of a professional and collaborative team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with coding standards, regulations, and policies
Position: Medical Coder
Shift Timing: 07:00pm-04:00am
Location: MMalam, Lahore
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and abstract information from medical records, ensuring accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Select diagnostic and procedure codes based on medical records and clinical documentation.
- Utilize relevant modifiers for claims and coding edits.
- Ensure coding is accurate, compliant with internal standards, and follows payer guidelines.
- Code across various specialties (e.g., ER, Radiology, Surgery, Oncology).
- Oversee and monitor the implementation of the coding program, ensuring correct documentation and compliance with industry regulations.
- Develop and update training materials and provide necessary in-services to team members.
- Ensure compliance with coding policies, legal regulations, and payer-specific requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Health Information Management, Business, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical coding or healthcare services management.
- Experience coding across multiple specialties.
- Proficiency in coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
- Familiarity with coding tools or encoders (e.g., 3M Encoder, Optum360, Codify).
- Knowledge of healthcare payer systems, coding guidelines, and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
