Azure Cloud Engineer

Medcare MSO is one of the largest USA-based Healthcare IT organization in Pakistan, with 950+ people on board. We implement best practices and adopt state-of-the-art technology tools to achieve results. We are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, manage, and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure. This role is focused on cloud administration, security, networking, monitoring, and operational excellence responsibilities.

This is not a DevOps role. The successful candidate will manage and operate Azure environments rather than build CI/CD pipelines or application delivery workflows.

Shift timings: 07:00 pm – 04:00 am

Location: Lahore (on-site)

 

Key Responsibilities

Azure Infrastructure & Compute

  • Deploy, configure, and manage Azure Virtual Machines (Windows & Linux)
  • Manage VM scale sets, availability sets, and high-availability solutions
  • Implement and manage Azure App Services and Azure Functions
  • Perform OS patching, updates, and lifecycle management

Storage & Data Services

  • Configure and manage Azure Storage accounts (Blob, File, Disk)
  • Implement storage security, access policies, and monitor storage performance and availability

Networking

  • Design and manage Azure Virtual Networks, subnets, and NSGs
  • Configure Azure Load Balancer and Application Gateway
  • Implement VPN Gateway and support ExpressRoute
  • Manage DNS, Traffic Manager, and network security controls

Identity & Access Management

  • Administer Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)
  • Implement Conditional Access, and Multi-Factor Authentication
  • Manage users, groups, service principals, and managed identities

Monitoring, Backup & Recovery

  • Configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
  • Implement alerting, logging, and performance monitoring
  • Configure and manage Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery
  • Support disaster recovery planning and testing

Security & Governance

  • Implement security best practices using Microsoft Defender for Cloud
  • Enforce governance through Azure Policy and resource tagging
  • Support compliance and audit requirements
  • Monitor and remediate security recommendations

Cost Management & Optimization

  • Monitor Azure consumption using Cost Management + Billing
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource usage
  • Support budgeting and chargeback processes

Operations & Support

  • Troubleshoot Azure infrastructure, networking, and access issues
  • Support production environments and participate in incident response
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and architecture diagrams

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) is preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in cloud or infrastructure engineering
  • 3+ years hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure
  • Experience migrating or supporting workloads in Azure
  • Strong background in networking, security, and infrastructure operations
  • Experience supporting production cloud environments
  • Experience in PowerShell and/or Bash for administrative automation and Windows and Linux Server administration

Role Scope Clarification

This position is focused on Azure cloud infrastructure and platform engineering.

 

It does not include:

  • Ownership of CI/CD pipelines
  • Build or release automation responsibilities
  • Kubernetes cluster administration
  • Management of GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps pipelines, or Jenkins
